SoundTransit

Sound Transit was created by Washington's state legislature to build a mass transit system for Central Puget Sound that connects major regional job and housing communities. Today, Sound Transit carries more than 18 million riders a year on its trains and buses.
SoundTransit's CEO wanted an appropriate framework for the executive team to have frank discussions and provide new insights to each other to establish agreements about operating from a unified leadership perspective going forward.
TalentSmart facilitators led a custom executive session with emotional intelligence and personality as the framework for team exploration. We managed the prework assessment process and put together the executive team's group profile and session agenda. The first half of the session introduced emotional intelligence at SoundTransit with a debriefing of the Emotional Intelligence Appraisal—Me Edition Online results. Each executive identified specific actions to take to increase their use of emotional intelligence skills at SoundTransit. The focus of the afternoon debriefing was the executive team's IDISC personality profiles, including a discussion of their Anti-Types and the executive team's group profile. Each executive team member offered insights into how they operate at work, and together they established agreements for operating as an executive team.
