How do I take the test if I purchased an e-book copy of Emotional Intelligence 2.0?

To take the Emotional Intelligence Appraisal that comes with the purchase of Emotional Intelligence 2.0, go to www.talentsmart.com/test.

Questions or seeking assistance with your passcode:

  • For all passcode inquiries for the Emotional Intelligence Appraisal test, please take a picture of how your passcode appears in your book and email the picture to ebook@talentsmart.com. Our support team will research your passcode inquiry and if validated we may issue you a replacement code within 1 business day.

Ebook Format:

  • If this is an ebook copy purchased through Amazon Kindle, Audible Audiobook, or Barnes and Noble Nook, we are pleased to let you know that your passcode to the Emotional Intelligence Appraisal test is provided in an additional email sent to you from your ebook vendor. The email is sent to the email address you registered for your ebook vendor account. We recommend you check your email spam and junk folders, as those emails often go to spam and junk folders.
  • For all other ebook providers not mentioned above, they do not distribute the unique passcode upon purchase. TalentSmart offers a unique passcode to the Emotional Intelligence Appraisal test where we match the current Amazon price of our book Emotional Intelligence 2.0.   • The subject of the email is "Your Amazon.com Promotional Code," and the email is sent to the email address you registered with your Kindle account.
  • Please do a search in your inbox, spam, and junk folders as these emails are often filtered to those folders. If you are unable to find the email, please contact Amazon Kindle Support at
    kindle-cs-support@amazon.com as they will be able to resend your passcode.

For Audible Users:

  • After you place your order for the Emotional Intelligence 2.0 book, Audible emails a unique passcode to the Emotional Intelligence Appraisal test to you.
  • The subject of the email is "Supporting Documents for Emotional Intelligence 2.0 (Unabridged)." The passcode is sent to the email address you registered with your Audible account.
  • Please do a search in your inbox, spam, and junk folders as these emails are often filtered to those folders. If you are unable to find the email, please contact Audible Support at www.audible.com/mt/contact-us, or you can call their support line at 1.888.283.5051 (USA and Canada), and they will be able to resend your passcode.

Audio Format:

  • If your physical audio book CD is damaged, does not play, or is missing a passcode to the Emotional Intelligence Appraisal test, please contact the audio book publisher Brilliance Audio for assistance. Once they are able to verify your order, Brilliance Audio will send you a new CD and/or a new and unique passcode to the test. If you do not receive a new CD and/or a new and unique passcode to the test, please contact Tanya Allen at tanyag@brilliancepublishing.com.

Used Book or Additional Passcode:

  • There may be a chance that you’ve purchased a used book, and the passcode to the Emotional Intelligence Appraisal test was previously used. Only brand-new Emotional Intelligence 2.0 books have an unused and unique passcode to take the test. Please contact our support team at 858.509.0582 and we will be happy to assist you in placing an order for a new unique passcode.

How do I view my results report if I've already taken the Emotional Intelligence Appraisal that comes with the Emotional Intelligence 2.0 book?

To access your report, follow the same instructions you used to take the assessment.

  1. Go to www.talentsmart.com/test.
  2. Click on "View My Report".
  3. Enter the password from the back of your book.

Note: If the page you are on asks for your email address, you are on the wrong page. Make sure you are at www.talentsmart.com/test.

How do I view my results report if I've already taken the Self-Assessment that comes with the Leadership 2.0 book?

To access your report, follow the same instructions you used to take the assessment.

  1. Go to www.talentsmart.com/refined.
  2. Click on "View My Report".
  3. Enter the password from the back of your book.

Note: If the page you are on asks for your email address, you are on the wrong page. Make sure you are at www.talentsmart.com/refined.

What do I do if I'm trying to take an assessment or log in to my report and the system says my email address cannot be found or is incorrect?

If you receive this message when trying to log in, then you are not on the right page—you do not need your email address to log in. If the Emotional Intelligence Appraisal you are trying to access is from the Emotional Intelligence 2.0 book, then the correct page is www.talentsmart.com/test.

How do I complete an assessment if I'm getting an error message that the survey deadline has already passed?

If you received this error message then you need to contact the survey administrator and ask him or her if it is possible to extend the deadline so that you can complete the assessment.

The administrator's email address can be found in the invitation email that was sent to you with instructions on how to take the assessment.

What is your return policy?

Physical products may be returned in re-sellable condition within 7 days of receipt for a full refund. Online assessments are non-refundable.

Train-the-Trainer Policy: Things do come up and we understand that. If you must postpone your plans to attend, you may reschedule for a future session one time - at no additional charge. If you must cancel your plans to attend altogether, please note there is a non-refundable cancellation fee (10% of your registration).
